Job Summary
The Senior Vice President - Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for all aspects of information technology strategy, planning, deployment and support. The CIO will ensure that information technology needs are identified and that planning and decision-making processes guide the organization to implement and support the priorities established and supported by the System Executive Leadership. The CIO is a direct report to the Chief Operations Officer.
The CIO is responsible for directing the information and data integrity of the system and its groups and for all Information Services functions of the system. This includes all data centers, technical service centers, production scheduling functions, help desks, voice and data communication networks, computer program development, computer software/hardware acquisition (working both with the HHS capital process and the Harris County Purchasing process) and implementation and computer systems operations.
The CIO is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all electronic records of the enterprise including review of computerized and manual systems; information processing equipment and software for acquisition, storage and retrieval; and definition of the strategic direction of all information processing and communication systems and operations. The SVP/CIO role works collaboratively in a matrix environment with the Chief Cyber & Information Security Officer (direct report to the Chief Compliance Officer) and the Chief Health Informatics Officer (direct report to the Chief Medical Executive).
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree required or within 3 years of hire
Experience: Ten (10) years of IT/M.I.S Experience
Management Experience: Five (5) years of management experience in a senior level MIS role
Communication Skills: Above average verbal communication skills (heavy public contact); Exceptional verbal skills (public speaking); writing/correspondence skills; writing/reports skills
Proficiencies: Personal Computer
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Analytical Abilities; Statistical Knowledge and Abilities
Other Special Requirements: Experience in information technology implementation, system development, process redesign and vendor negotiations; Strong leadership in change management, and highly developed communication/presentation skills.
