The Connecticut Hospice seeks a mission-based and experienced leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Established in 1974 as the nation's first hospice, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead the organization in the next phase of its evolution. The Connecticut Hospice has a well-deserved reputation for its comprehensive patient and family centered approach and has a full spectrum of services to care for patients at the end of their lives. The entire staff, many of whom have been there for many years, believe that they are privileged to work for this organization. The CEO will partner with The Connecticut Hospice's Board of Directors and Leadership Team to develop a sustainable and growth-oriented plan. They will work to create specific goals and strategies to ensure the organization's long term success. This includes strengthening existing programs, expanding into new areas, as well as developing partnerships in the region with hospitals and community-based agencies.
The CEO will provide leadership, direction and oversight for The Connecticut Hospice's hospital, home care and hospice programs. The new leader will ultimately be responsible for The Connecticut Hospice's operations and the delivery of high quality, patient and family centered care. This person will partner with the Leadership Team to drive optimal organizational performance and quality care for patients and their families. A key component of the work is to ensure that the organization is in full compliance with established federal and state regulations.
In addition, the CEO will be a visible leader who will spearhead efforts to expand The Connecticut Hospice's brand and presence in the area. The new CEO will be the voice and face of the organization and will drive public and private philanthropic support working with the Board and the Leadership Team. The new CEO will either have established connections with key political leaders or be able to develop these relationships for the benefit of the organization.
The CEO will understand the local, regional and federal healthcare markets, industry trends and key external constituents and be able to position The Connecticut Hospice for future success in a quickly changing healthcare environment.
