ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION
YALE CANCER CENTER
New Haven, CT
Yale Cancer Center (YCC) is seeking applicants at the level of Associate or Full Professor for the role of Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (AD for DEI). The AD for DEI will lead efforts in the YCC to create a learning and working environment that promotes belonging, career development, inclusion, social justice, and health equity. The AD for DEI is a faculty leadership position that will be complemented by scientific and/or clinical cancer-relevant activities commensurate with the personal research, clinical and career interests of the individual. The AD for DEI will engage trainees, staff, faculty members and Smilow Cancer Hospital employees to increase the diversity and inclusiveness of the center; implement training to reduce conscious and unconscious bias and aggression; implement policies that foster cultural humility, norms of social justice and inclusion; and maintain compliance with Connecticut and Federal laws and Yale policies. This position reports directly to the YCC Director. The AD for DEI will participate in faculty and trainee recruitment and outreach to potential applicants from groups under-represented in science and medicine. The incumbent should have a demonstrated academic record consistent with the level of Associate Professor or Professor at Yale School of Medicine. Yale values diversity in its faculty, students, and staff and strongly encourages applications from women, members of minority groups, persons with disabilities, and protected veterans.
