ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR CLINICAL RESEARCH WINSHIP CANCER INSTITUTE
Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University (Winship) is seeking outstanding candidates with national and international stature in clinical research and care to serve as Associate Director for Clinical Research, a senior leadership position at the cancer center. Exceptional physician/physician-scientists with a strong clinical/translational emphasis in clinical trials development and implementation are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain a robust clinical research portfolio and provide leadership to the clinical research enterprise. The Associate Director will: provide strategic oversight for the entire clinical research enterprise, which includes the Winship Clinical Trials Office and the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee; liaise with Emory University units responsible for all aspects of clinical research; and, support the Winship mission in providing access to clinical trials of importance to our catchment area. A faculty appointment will be in the appropriate department within the Emory University School of Medicine.
An MD or MD/PhD and board certification in a primary specialty is required for consideration, and interested candidates should have experience in writing and conducting interventional treatment trials for the treatment of cancer, overseeing clinical research operations, hold a national leadership position related to clinical research, and experience effectively managing teams. A track record of participation and leadership in the NCTN and/or ETCTN are highly desirable. Successful candidates will have prior experience serving on research-related committees such as the institutional review board, scientific review committee and data safety and monitoring committees.
