MultiCare Health System is seeking a board-certified Associate Medical Director for Trauma Surgery to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This position will be .25 Medical Director and .75 Clinical to equal a 1.0 FTE.
As Associate Medical Director you will:
Work with Tacoma General Hospital leadership to drive quality and performance improvement activities
Collaborate closely with hospital CMO and the medical staff to ensure sufficient staff and resources to run a safe and effective Level II trauma program
Assist in the creation of a monthly EMTALA call schedule for both trauma and acute care surgical services
Assist the program director with operational management responsibilities, including daily management of clinical staff
Participate in facility strategic and business planning activities
Assist the facility CMO with provider peer review and quality improvement activities
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including the JC, WA DOH, ACS, etc.
Help develop evidence-based policies and practices to provide the highest quality care to our patients
Help in oversight of utilization review, including assessing appropriateness of treatment and timely discharge practices
Demonstrated excellent clinical skills in the field of trauma surgery
Effectively communicate with a passion for process and quality improvement
What you will need:
Board certified/eligible in General Surgery with a Fellowship in Trauma Surgery at time of employment
Advanced Business Degree or commensurate business/leadership training with a minimum 3 years of similar leadership experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center is preferred
Licensed as an MD or DO in the state of WA by the time of employment
DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
