Job Summary:
The Director of Community Relations provides leadership and direction for the community relations strategies for Westchester Medical Center Health Network. Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Government and Community Relations, this position is responsible for developing and implementing community relations initiatives to engage external stakeholders. This position will provide structure for program development, implementation and metrics to support the Network's mission throughout the Hudson Valley on its overall strategic community relations goals and plans. The Director will be responsible for building a community relations program, directing field staff, and working with community-based organizations (which include, but is not limited to, not-for-profits, civic groups, religious organizations, advocacy groups, colleges and universities, schools, and trade associations). Does related work as required.

Experience:
Either 5 years of experience where the primary responsibility of the position was community relations or public outreach or 5 years of experience working for New York State (or one of its agencies or subsidiaries) or a local government in the State of New York.

Extensive experience working and engaging with various community organizations; ability to plan and implement programs in the community; ability to evaluate the effectiveness of organizational initiatives; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff, outside professionals, and individuals involved in the community organizations we are working with in order to achieve desired objectives; ability to analyze organizational and departmental needs; ability to plan, direct and coordinate the work of others; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; familiarity with social media platforms; initiative; tact; good judgment; and physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.Special Requirements: Fluency in a second language, ideally Hebrew, Yiddish, and/or Spanish.
