Director of Nursing - Medical/Surgical Units

This position involves managing the overall operations of the unit, including strategically developing short and long-term goals with specific attention to high-quality patient care. In collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer, you’ll:

• Plan, implement and evaluate systems for the delivery of care following ANAs/AHA’s nursing principles
• Manage and lead all nursing personnel operations, including hiring, orientation, training/mentoring, evaluation/competency reviews, and retention
• Establish new policies and update existing policies/procedures to meet all regulatory requirements and improve the standard of care for patients
• Participate in QI and PI activities to ensure an efficient and safe working environment

The qualified professional must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred
• Current NYS RN license and BCLS certification
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ progressive leadership experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of related accreditation, licensing, and certification requirements
• In-depth knowledge of legal policies and regulations in the healthcare industry
• Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
