Memorial Healthcare System is growing and seeking a board certified Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to lead our team as Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine Services in a quaternary care center with a strong regional and local referral base for placenta accreta spectrum, serving a diverse population with over 12,000 deliveries annually. Successful candidates are to be energetic and self-motivated with strong interpersonal and professional skills. Candidates should have at least five years of expertise in fetal diagnostic testing and the direct management of medical and surgical complications and co-morbidities in pregnancy. This is a high-volume ultrasound and consultation-only service (inpatient and outpatient) with a diversity of complex and challenging maternal and fetal cases. Emphasis is placed on multidisciplinary management in collaboration with our robust team of medical and surgical adult and pediatric subspecialists. Responsibilities include: prenatal diagnostic procedures including ultrasounds and amniocentesis, outpatient medical management of co-morbidities in pregnancy, inpatient management of complications of pregnancy (in conjunction with an OB provider), and participation in OB-GYN resident and medical student training. CVS, fetal procedure and/or critical care experience would be a plus but not required; fluency in Spanish and or Haitian Creole would also be beneficial but not required. Although the specific position is considered to be consultation only, there are opportunities, if desired, to participate in deliveries and surgeries, particularly for accretas and cerclages. Active collaboration with a fetal surgery trained pediatric surgeon is anticipated. In addition, there are opportunities for clinical research.
This is an employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and compensation package that are commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
