Diversified Search Group has been exclusively retained by UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to recruit for the newly created role of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, part of the UPMC academic medical system and insurer, is the preeminent institution in western Pennsylvania for the delivery of cancer care, cancer research and training, and the area’s only NCI-designated cancer center. With more than 70 UPMC locations, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center provides the highest level of clinical care to more than 141,000 people each year throughout Pennsylvania, western New York, Ohio, Maryland, and in Ireland and Italy. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Center employs more than 2000 people, including nearly 250 providers, and has revenues greater than $1B.
Reporting to the President of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, the VP & COO will direct, administer, and coordinate operations for the cancer service line under the direction of, and in accordance with, policies, goals and objectives, established by the President and physician executive leaders. The COO will assist the President in the development and implementation of policies and activities covering organization operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth.
We seek candidates who served in an operational leadership role in a healthcare entity with significant ambulatory operations, with experience in cancer services highly preferred. Experience integrating healthcare entities is desired. Candidates must have a track record of building, leading and mentoring successful teams; leadership experience in a highly matrixed environment will be seen as a value add. The successful candidate will possess exceptional business acumen, financial management skills and executive presence.
