At the same time, however, the focus is on value gaining the most from the IT investments and costs we are incurring in terms of business enablement, operational insights that lead to improvement, and management of market/competitive intelligence.
Examples of the expected work/deliverables:
Optimizing IT infrastructure spend by creating a flexible delivery model and efficiently leveraging right resources from third-party vendors and suppliers.
Exploring and implementing new technologies that improve results and deliver a return on investment both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Reducing application maintenance and development through the creation of a more service-oriented architecture for delivering new IT solutions (e.g., new clinical information systems) and rationalization of existing redundant or outdated applications as appropriate and with an eye for Return-on-Investment business cases.
Systematically managing our outsourced partners through measurable KPIs, operational and financial return on value as well as adherence to customer service and contractual disciplines.
Importantly, the Vice President will have responsibility for implementing effectiveness and IT governance improvements through the following plan:
Aligning Business Unit and IT strategy to deliver IT-enabled business capabilities, ensuring clear alignment of business and technology imperatives.
Implementing a more formal demand and supply model with clearly defined roles to enable effective service delivery and usage of third parties.
