Valley Children's is seeking an experienced Director of PICU to join this exceptional team of professionals. Reporting to the Executive Director and Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, this position is administratively accountable for patient care activities, operations, and staff functions within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Access/Transfer Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administratively accountable for patient care activities, operations, and staff functions within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Access/Transfer Center.
Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care by serving as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, and family issues.
Facilitates communication of system, regional, facility and department initiatives.
Manages and develops the operational and capital budgets and use of associated resources.
Responsible for selection, orientation, on-boarding, and retention of staff. Demonstrates leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and development opportunities. Actively develops leadership of entry-level nurse managers while leading clinical improvement initiatives.
