Internal Medicine Program Director Opportunity

Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking an experienced physician leader to join our organization.

Position Highlights –

• Opportunity to lead our Internal Medicine Residency Program which consists of 54 residents (18/year) with both a categorical and primary care program. This well-established program is known for its innovation and was selected as one of 21 programs for the ACGME Educational Innovations Project.
• Baystate Medical Center is a 716-bed independent academic medical center with 33 residency and fellowship programs and is also a teaching site of the UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate.

Qualifications:  ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Applications will be accepted from those in hospital medicine, primary care, and medical specialties.  Over 5 years’ experience with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department.  Demonstrable record of collaboration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for medical education and mentoring junior faculty and ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders to work towards a shared vision.  The Department of Medicine greatly values teamwork, collegiality, diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Leadership training is provided and encouraged.
