The Chair of OB/GYN will be a strong advocate for balancing the academic, educational and clinical missions within the Department and a willing collaborator with colleagues outside of the Department. The Chair will promote a culture of institutional stewardship and transparency, including a commitment to improved clinical operations, efficient and effective use of space, and a willingness to realign resources with evolving institutional strategies. Above all, the new Chair of OB/GYN will help MetroHealth adapt and thrive in the evolving healthcare industry and will inspire the organization to deliver on its vision of being the most admired public health system in the nation, renowned for innovation, outcomes, service and financial strength.
The Chair must be a compelling leader and a recognized educator and/or investigator whose passion for the educational, clinical, and research missions energizes the faculty, staff, and learners in a culturally competent and culturally sensitive manner:
7+ years of progressive management experience in the field of OB/GYN, preferably in a teaching institution, health center, and/or community hospital.
Distinguished record of academic experience and research productivity.
National recognition as evidenced by involvement in academic societies at a national level and track record of sustained scholarship.
MD, MD/PhD, DO, or equivalent.
Board certification in OB/GYN; must be able to practice medicine in the State of Ohio,
Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program; OB/GYN subspecialty fellowship preferred.
Preferred advanced degree in management, i.e., MBA, MPH, or MHA.
