The incumbent serves as the Chief, Podiatry under the immediate supervision of the Chief, Orthopedics within Surgery Service. He/she will maintain licensure and credentials sufficient to extend to the incumbent the authority to practice Podiatric Medicine inclusive of all diagnostic and medical therapeutic modalities for the treatment of diseases, conditions and injuries related to the field. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide comprehensive Podiatric care services as well as follow-up care of existing conditions and management of emergency conditions within the scope of incumbent's approved clinical privileges. Provide Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Podiatric Services, including hospital rounds and coverage of the emergency room. Perform Podiatric Surgery in the Operating Room. Conduct weekly outpatient clinics Provide non-operative Podiatric hospital rounds for Podiatric patients. Debridement, pathomechanical, foot orthopedics, biomechanical, radiographic, orthotic, dennatological, and surgical procedures must be applied as elements of total patient care. Provide leadership and management of the Podiatry service, to include, but not limited to, management of clinic utilization, productivity, clinic grids, and management of two Podiatrists (who lead the facility PAVE and Podiatry Residency program). Participate and contribute to podiatric resident education in the clinic and operating room. Participate and contribute to podiatric resident education via informal and formal didactic interactions.
