This is an exciting opportunity to drive strategies that focus on significant expansion of Morehouse Health Care’s (faculty plan) ambulatory and inpatient missions through focused and strategic physician and provider recruitments, the successful development and implementation of new clinical partnerships and affiliations, and the establishment of new physician/provider networks while leveraging system-wide capabilities within the ACO, to improve health outcomes and advance MSM’s health equity vision and mission.
Reporting to the new EVP for Health Affairs and Dean of Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), Joseph (Adrian) Tyndall, M.D., MPH, FACEP, the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs (SADCA) serves as the institution’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who will effectively collaborate and partner with the EVP/Dean in articulating, directing, and executing on the clinical vision and strategies of the organization. This role works closely with hospital partners, the Veterans Administration, internal and external physicians and executive leadership teams to build upon strategic priorities to address current and future needs and improve clinical efficiencies and outcomes using disease management, population management, and evidence-based care programs. With shared oversight of clinical fiscal matters with the intent to increase revenue streams for Morehouse Health Care, the SADCA/CMO will be responsible for all clinical operations of Morehouse Health Care and have oversight of and coordinate the activity of chiefs of clinical activities for MSM at Grady Health Systems, a major teaching affiliate for the MSM.
The Ideal Candidate
The Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer must be a thought leader with a track record of clinical operational experience, innovation, impact, demonstrated clinical competence, scholarly activity, and include:
M.D. degree from an accredited medical school,
Current board certification in area of practice; and
An appropriate record of scholarship, teaching and service to meet the requirements for Full Professor at MSM.
Morehouse School of Medicine was recently recognized as the top institution among U.S. medical schools for its social mission. MSM and CommonSpirit Health proudly announce a 10-year, $100 million partnership and the first nationwide initiative between two of the country’s leading health organizations to address the underlying causes of health equity, including underrepresentation of Black clinicians. The initiative will establish five regional campuses and graduate medical education programs in at least ten markets in partnership with CommonSpirit healthcare facilities.
