PeaceHealth is seeking a dynamic, transformational physician executive to serve as its next Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC).
Our CMO is a key physician administrative leader of St. Joseph Medical Center. St. Joseph Medical Center is a 234-bed facility and serves as the regions only Level-II trauma center and has a level 2 NICU. This leadership position will report to the NW Network Chief Medical officer and have matrixed reporting to the NW network Chief Executive and to the system Chief Physician Executive.
In this role you will be responsible to provide exceptional physician leadership and partner with SJMC medical staff to foster an environment of quality, safety, and excellence within PeaceHealth’s clinical delivery framework in the Northwest Network. You will serve a key role in identifying and defining network strategic goals and objectives and be responsible to ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulatory guidelines.
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center serves the North Sound region of Washington, with Whatcom County being its primary service area. The Bellingham-based medical center is the area’s sole community hospital and is a Level II trauma center providing comprehensive specialty care and centers of excellence in cardiovascular, cancer, spine and joint replacements. Providers at PeaceHealth Medical Group in Bellingham and Lynden provide a full range of primary and specialty care services.

Successful Candidates will possess:
Five years of progressive healthcare leadership
Five years recent clinical practice experience
Experience leading/partnering in multidisciplinary teams required
Up to date knowledge of changes in healthcare, emerging clinical methodologies and standards required
Successful experience with redesign or process work which includes hospital wide, community or medical group wide implementation required
Medical Degree from an accredited institution
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field is a plus
