Atlanta, GA - Wellstar Health System seeks an experienced physician leader to serve as its next Chief Surgical Officer. Wellstar Health System, the largest health system in Georgia, is known nationally for its innovative care models that are focused on quality improvement and increased access to healthcare.
Wellstar Health System's Surgical Service Line is a mature, innovative, and award-winning component of the 11-hospital System throughout greater Atlanta and the State of Georgia. Surgical innovation at Wellstar spans over 40 years. Today, there are over 600 surgeons throughout the system responsible for over 70K cases annually.
The Chief Surgical Officer ("Chief") will develop a vision for the Service Line, focusing on expanding, integrating, and optimizing surgical programs. For Service Line duties, the Chief will report to the Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Integration Officer. For Clinical Duties reporting to SVP Specialty Division for WMG, the Chief will have the responsibility of leading physician colleagues through unprecedented times in the healthcare industry.
We seek a candidate with leadership experience in a complex environment, with the ability to influence change by demonstrating strong business acumen and creating genuine connections with colleagues. The Chief will be uniquely positioned to have a long-lasting impact on the organization through the development of teams. Ideally, this will be a practicing surgeon who is able to commit to a balance of clinical and administrative responsibilities.
