The Senior Director for Regional Ambulatory Operations will work directly reporting to the Vice President of Regional Ambulatory Services, the Sr. Director is responsible for implementing outreach strategies to increase market share in the region, providing operational oversight of multi-specialty medical office buildings to ensure optimal implementation of new services and serving as the operational liaison with PCC's for existing and new locations to ensure regional clinics are aligned with standard ambulatory procedures and meet and exceed operational, clinical, and financial objectives.
Provide leadership to coordinate operational implementation of multi-specialty practices at regional locations
Oversee the local leaders on point for building management and operations integration among specialties. Coordinate and centralize services including mail pick up/drop off, building maintenance, cash collection and deposit, supply ordering and inventory, etc.
Provide leadership to facilitate the integration and standardization of regional practices with the overall ambulatory strategy. (Lab, POCT, EKG, P4P, ACO, PCMH, MHAV, paperless clinic, front desk, etc. processes)
Develop and monitor performance metrics dashboard and follow up as necessary.
Ensure the most effective operations through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with multiple specialties.
Manage capacity and growth through implementation of strategic and operational plans for clinic programs
Analyze situations/incidents and prepare and deliver briefings to executive management regarding recommendations and conclusions
Analyze and evaluate operations to identify areas where adjustments and improvements are necessary.
Standardize processes, resources and practices to improve efficiency
Rounds regularly in regional practices to ensure optimal operations and trouble-shoot identified issues.
Serve as diplomat to physician practices to facilitate resolution of problems and conflicts.
Interact with community organizations and health care providers.
Maintain current knowledge of administrative practices and remains up to date on new developments in Ambulatory Services and incorporates such in the scope of services.
Assists in budget preparation for achievement of financial and operational goals for all regional locations.
Assures adherence of services to program expectations, State, Federal, and local licensure or regulatory requirements, and to accreditation standards at all sites as appropriate.
Regional Ambulatory Services is led by the VUMC Regional CMO and the Vice President of Regional Ambulatory Services. The department consists of Associate CMO's and Sr. Directors who make up the dyad leadership team in each region. There are over 140 primary care and specialty adult ambulatoryclinics outside of Davidson County. The primary care locations are located throughout several counties and the specialty services are clustered in several large medical office buildings across middle Tennessee. The Regional Ambulatory Leadership team is responsible for implementing outreach strategies to provide services closer to patients' homes, providing operational oversight of all adult ambulatory clinic locations and ensuring regional clinics are aligned with standard ambulatory procedures and meet operational, clinical, and financial objectives.
