Summary The Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) applies solid healthcare leadership skills and innovation in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, and evaluating complex clinical and administrative activities. Interfaces with a number of individuals, organizations and groups in order to assure coordination of services and ongoing communication with all stakeholders, consumers, veteran service organizations, VA central office staff, and others. Provides guidance to ensure adherence to standards of professional practice, evaluating care delivery models, establishing clinical programs, business planning, managing healthcare resources, assuring customer satisfaction, improving clinical quality, and implementing evidenced-based clinical care practices.
