Were looking for a Medical Director (MD/DO) to join our team.
Reporting to the Market President, the San Francisco Bay area Medical Director will define and develop clinical and medical programs and procedures in GoHealths California Market. This person will manage a staff of clinical practitioners in urgent care clinics in the San Francisco Bay area. The Medical Director will need to ensure medical staff is provided with support, feedback, education, training, and scheduling in order to maintain exceptional levels of efficiency, client satisfaction, and patient experience. S/he will be required to implement medical practice procedures and policies that abide by external and internal regulations and standards.
Lead, counsel, and engage a frontline clinical workforce of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, focusing on the highest level of care and a high standard of customer satisfaction
Define and coordinate clinical scheduling, call and leave for medical staff, continuing professional education, in-service training, and appropriate coding of medical records
Identify and implement best practices across medical practice procedures, policies, and clinic operations
Ensure clinics maintain industry-leading patient satisfaction in the urgent care realm
Oversee and maintain performance improvement processes for GoHealth as established by the health center, the federal government, and other entities
Review clinical and patient care contracts for services provided to or by GoHealth
Represent GoHealth at local medical societies, hospitals, professional organizations, groups and agencies with the highest level of integrity
Routinely communicate clinical activities to the executive leadership team, board, and other key stakeholders, managing a complex, multi-faceted relationship with health system stakeholders at the Executive and Board levels
Participate in conjunction with the management team in the overall budget planning and monitoring process, planning and development of new clinical programs, and the standards and qualifications for medical personnel
D. or D.O. degree from accredited medical school required
Board-certified in emergency medicine, family practice, or Med/Peds
State of California medical license
Clinical leadership experience and private practice experience desirable
At least two years experience working w/in clinical leadership preferred
Successful track record building, developing, and leading high-performing medical teams; he or she must process strong analytical, management, delegation, organizational, and administrative skills to develop and mentor a high performing team
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Comfortable with and excited by the prospect of working in a small company with massive growth potential
Proven track record of flexibility and fluidity in managing many responsibilities, acting as a coach and manager while simultaneously managing multiple operational sites
Possesses the tenure, knowledge, and skill set necessary to bring authority to new and existing relationships, both internal and external among physicians and non-physician executives
