This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The VA Long Beach Healthcare System is seeking is a Primary Care Section Chief of Physician. The incumbent is expected to provide the overall physician/clinical direction wherever care for Veterans is provided. The physician Section Chief will work on a daily basis with the Primary Care HCG Chief, Chief of Patient Care Services, Nurse Supervisors, Business Manager, and Administrative Officer, This physician will conduct routine reviews to ensure the expected quality of care is met. The major duties of this position include but are not limited to: Communicates VALB goals, foster negotiations and collaborations on care settings via video-tel and face to face visits Proactively works with community partners to meet Joint Commission and OIG focus areas Responsible for day to day operations of outpatient physician staff including assignments, coverage and collaboration with other clinical service lines. Attends national and VISN training and conference calls Develops processes with community hospitals providing outpatient services to Veterans Responsible for the timely review completion and reporting for specific outpatient based activities including special committee reviews, Peer Reviews, protocols, waiver reports, medical record timeliness, order entry and others. 30% time dedicated to administrative and 70% time devoted to clinical duties.
