Encompass Health with our partner The University of Iowa Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation is seeking a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our team of faculty physiatrists as Medical Director of a new freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facility. The facility opened in the summer of 2020 and it is the first inpatient rehab facility to be affiliated with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, a Level 1 trauma center and the state's only comprehensive academic medical center.

We are seeking a physician who has experience as a medical director with strong skills in leadership, program development, and clinical care. This is an exciting opportunity for an academic-oriented physiatrist to play an integral role in the grown and development of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, with ample opportunities to participate in research and medical education. We will be seeking a candidate who is quality-focused and team-oriented. This is a full-time position in the clinical or tenure track.

Education Requirement:

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• MD or DO with state medical license or willingness to obtain state license.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent clinical and academic credentials.
• Minimum experience of three years with inpatient rehabilitation.
• Experience working in a team setting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to ongoing performance improvement.
• Demonstrate experience promoting a diverse workforce/academic environment.

Certifications:

Candidates must be Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
