Miami, FL – Nicklaus Children's Health System seeks a dynamic and enterprising physician leader to serve as the Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. NCHS is comprised of the level-I pediatric trauma center and 309-bed flagship institution, Nicklaus Children's Hospital, as well as a network of outpatient and urgent care centers, Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists, an ambulatory surgery center, and an e-commerce line of children's wellness and safety products. NCHS has received many accolades over the years, including designation as a Magnet facility for nursing excellence and most recently ranked in seven pediatric subspecialty programs by U.S. News & World Report. The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and the emergency department are the focal points for high acuity pediatric care in Southern Florida. The Division is multifaceted and is focused on developing the next generation of physicians with the pediatric emergency medicine fellowship program and residents and medical students who rotate through the service. With over 35 physicians and highly trained nurse practitioners, the Division is capable of handling the most severe trauma cases, providing care for over 85,000 patients annually. To expand pediatric emergency care to the community, NCHS has partnered with Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) to bring specialized pediatric care to BHSF's emergency rooms. The next Chief will be an accomplished leader in pediatric emergency medicine with experience working in a complex and high volume pediatric emergency department. They will have the in-depth knowledge and ability to effectively lead physicians and staff, while embracing the importance of strategic thinking, quality, customer service and fiscal responsibility. Candidates must hold a medical doctorate degree and board certification in pediatric emergency medicine.
