Prairie View, Inc., located in Newton, Kansas just 25 miles north of Wichita, seeks a strategic, mission driven leader to serve as the next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). For over 65 years, Prairie View, Inc. (Prairie View) has been a trusted mental health provider in North Central Kansas. With five facilities providing a blend of inpatient and outpatient services across a three county area, Prairie View remains focused on its mission of providing leading behavioral and mental health services in the spirit of Christ for children, teens, and adults of all ages. The position is open due to the planned retirement of Jessie Kaye, who served in the role for approximately 16 years. Under her leadership, Prairie View saw the expansion of services, stronger partnerships and enhanced advocacy efforts. The next CEO will inherit these successes and build upon the strong reputation to help ensure Prairie View remains a trusted service and valuable asset to the communities across the region.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will play a pivotal role as Prairie View continues to be a leading behavioral health provider in the region. The CEO will bring a strong strategic orientation and be able to identify opportunities for growth across the region. It will be critical that the next leader bolster Prairie View's philanthropy by engaging with the management team to develop a plan to help enhance fundraising. The CEO will foster a collaborative work environment for teammates that leads to improved retention and build key partnerships with entities to create a strong external presence. The CEO will need to be equally comfortable being visible and engaged in the local communities as they are with advocacy efforts at the state and federal level. He/she will partner with the clinicians, physicians and operational leaders across Prairie View to ensure strong performance and to support the efficient delivery of care.
The ideal candidate will bring progressive leadership experience within a healthcare or non-profit organization, preferably with a background in behavioral health leadership. He/she will have a strong financial acumen and bring a balance of strategy and operations. This will be an individual with superb relationship skills - with team members, physicians, clinicians, board members, leadership as well as members of the community. This individual will be a skilled communicator, must be able to lead and operate within a collaborative environment and possess a strong sense of mission. Previous experience in faith-based organizations is a plus.
This is a terrific opportunity for an approachable, visible senior executive to lead a multi-site healthcare organization into a new era. The next CEO should welcome both the opportunities and challenges facing Prairie View in a changing behavioral health landscape and ensure future long term success by building on the already storied reputation of the organization.
