Essex Specialized Surgical Institute (E.S.S.I.) is searching for our new Director of Nursing who will lead our clinical team at our Ambulatory Surgery Center. Our ASC has four operating rooms, is single specialty (ophthalmology), and has around 10,000 surgeries/year. The Director of Nursing will have 20 clinical team members as direct reports including an Assistant Director of Nursing.
Responsible for supervising and directing nursing care in all clinical areas
Coordinates and directs patient care and related activities
Analyzes and evaluates nursing care to improve quality of care
Shares responsibility for the fiscal activities of the clinical services
Assists in the development and implementation of capital and operating budgets
Oversees patient scheduling in all clinical areas
Monitors FTE utilization and makes recommendations
Recommends new items to stay current with trends and needs of the facility
Conducts cost analyses to promote cost-effective practices and implements procedures to control waste
Analyzes data from performance-improvement program and prepares reports and recommendations
Evaluates the performance of all clinical personnel and works to continuously improve the quality of care and services
May assume responsibilities for administrator in his or her absence
Nursing leadership experience (Charge RN, Department Director, Clinical Manager, etc.)
Perioperative and/or ASC experience
Active New Jersey RN license
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
ACLS certification preferred
