North Kansas City Hospital and its physician network, Meritas Health have a unique opportunity for a high-level executive to join its team as the Director of Business Development. North Kansas City Hospital is one of the largest and busiest hospitals in the metro with 451 licensed beds and 550 physicians representing 49 medical specialties. Subsidiary Meritas Health offers a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and rehabilitative services at nearly 30 different locations in the Kansas City Northland.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Business Development, you will develop and maintain relationships necessary to discover and develop new programs and initiatives, and work closely with peers in corporate and community health, business intelligence, finance, managed care, marketing and legal, and with clinical and administrative leadership across the system. With full support of the CEO, this position will drive growth, supervise a small team of physician relation representatives, and implement a new PRM tool.
In addition to a master’s degree in health administration or business administration, ideal candidates should have at least five years of progressive healthcare provider experience in physician relations, market analysis, and financial model and/or strategy. Additional qualifications that are required for success in this role, include:
Experience managing healthcare/hospital alliances, partnerships and collaborations
Relationship-building, communication, and influence among all levels of stakeholders
General knowledge of provider billing practices and reimbursement methodologies
Expertise with analytical software, budget/finance tools and spreadsheets
Ability to build and sustain high-performing teams
