Reporting to the President of Wood County Hospital or designee, the Medical Director provides medical-administrative oversight for the clinical staff and operations of the Falcon Health Center; and for patient services provided under Life Path, the organization’s direct to employer program.
Falcon (“FHC”) provides the student health service for Bowling Green State University (“BGSU”) and also serves as both a community ambulatory care center and the hub for the hospital’s direct to employer program called Life Path. FHC has over 24,000 visits per year.

Class B- Class B job classifications have some employees with reasonably anticipated skin, eye, mucous membrane or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials that may result from performance of an employee’s duties. Employees are expected to complete appropriate employer provided education and to properly use PPE, Work Practice Controls and Engineering Controls.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In conjunction with the Administration provides leadership in establishing strategy, setting goals and objections for the Falcon business unit.
Provides clinical direction and oversight for physicians, mid-level providers, and other staff assigned to FHC.
Supports patient safety and performance improvement through development of PS/PI processes for FHC.
May serve as spokesperson for FHC for promotional, orientation, or other activities.
Participates in FHC meetings with University and other pertinent parties.
May serve on BGSU Committees or work groups as needed.
Coordinates with Wood County Hospital (“WCH”), Wood County Health District and other entities with regards to health issues that have potential university population or community implications.
Coordinates with Administration in planning and designing programs and services at FHC including the Life Path Direct to Employer program.
Participates in developing budgets for FHC in conjunction with Administration and Finance.
Establishes policies and processes consistent with standards of care; and pertinent regulations.
Clinically oversees on site Laboratory functions at FHC coordinating as needed with the WCH Chief of Pathology.
In conjunction with administration assures scheduling and staffing of clinical providers consistent with service level demands.
Provides primary care medical services following evidence-based standards.
Participates in developing and executing processes to measure patient satisfaction.
Maintains awareness of patient safety and confidentiality.
Completes medical records and pertinent documentation related to direct patient care activities.
Maintains Active status on the Medical Staff of Wood County Hospital.
Participates in committees and work groups where appropriate.
Assumes other duties as assigned.
