Executive Director: The Executive Director shall be the chief staff officer of the association, responsible for overall strategic management, tactical administration and operations of the RIALA office and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Confers with regulators, policy advisors and media to develop policies and positions.
Identify threats and opportunities to the assisted living industry. Develop and implement the strategic plan.
Report to, and work closely with the Board of Directors to make decisions on policy, fundraising and to promote the organization.
Maintain and develop new relationships, by effectively working with state, professional and civic organizations.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree(s) preferred.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Strong knowledge of Rhode Island’s state political system and government regulations.
Prior experience in association administration preferred.
Knowledge of the assisted living industry preferred.
Ability to work independently to lead and manage multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, analytical thinker with the ability to negotiate.
Strategic vision and system-level thinking. Views the RIALA members as partners and can manage more than one viewpoint on an issue.
High level thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s future to the staff, board, members, volunteers and supporters.
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
Excellent active listening skills.
