Reading Hospital, the flagship hospital, is a nationally recognized, 711-bed full service acute care teaching hospital comprised of a 22-building complex on a 36-acre suburban campus. Reporting to the President and CEO of Reading Hospital, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will provide the overall direction and management of medical staff services, quality, risk management and graduate medical education. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CMO will provide leadership and vision for the enterprise strategic plan, and will engage and integrate with key stakeholders at the local and regional levels to champion and advance the strategies of the system.
The chosen physician will be a proven leader will possess:
A minimum of five years of executive experience within an academic medical center or large teaching hospital.
Strong communication skills as well as the ability to lead and influence others, and achieve results.
Well versed in current CMO practices, including pay-for-performance and accountable care as well as leading a mixed medical staff.
MD or DO from an accredited medical school and Board Certification required.
MBA, MHA or advanced management degree preferred.
Reading, PA is an hour’s drive from Philadelphia and less than two hours from New Jersey.
