York, PA - WellSpan Health (WellSpan), a $3.0 billion integrated health system located in South Central Pennsylvania seeks a dynamic, transformational physician leader to serve as its next Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive (CPE). This is a unique opportunity at one of the most respected regional health systems in the country to champion quality, foster clinical effectiveness, shift the care model to value, and implement a culture of excellence in the delivery of clinical services. This leader will provide strategic and operational input in care delivery redesign, creating a more consistent patient experience through the enhancement of clinical integration. The CPE will report to the President and CEO and serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team.
WellSpan serves the communities of South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. The Health System is comprised of eight acute care hospitals, a 1,700-member multispecialty medical group, a regional behavioral health organization, a home care organization, over 180 outpatient care locations across the region and more than 19,000 dedicated employees. WellSpan has grown significantly over the last five years and maintains the reputation as the leading community-focused care delivery system in the region.
The CPE will be a critical component in WellSpan's future growth initiatives. This leader will oversee integration of population health initiatives, medical group operations, service line programmatic development, telehealth services and the system's shift from volume to value based care. The CPE will be a change agent propelling the System to think differently, be bold and remain the trusted healthcare partner to the communities they serve. The CPE will aim to reduce variation across sites of care, connect the operations of the delivery system to prepare the health system for care transformation and value based care.
WellSpan seeks candidates with exceptional relationship and team building skills, which bring a system's approach to problem-solving, consensus-building and LEAN principles. This role requires a systems-thinker who can recognize and validate achievement. The successful candidates is one who is adaptable, has had success working in large matrixed health system and is driven by strong personal and professional values.
