Under the direction of the Medical Directors and management staff, responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed throughout the clinical laboratory on all patients, from neonates to geriatric patients ensuring patient safety. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Supervises daily operations of assigned departments
Assists in selection of personnel
Makes recommendations on hiring, firing and discipline
Reviews quality control and patient results
Performs laboratory testing
Performs operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrument and equipment
Required: Bachelorâ��s Degree from an approved college or university and be a graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent. Personnel who, prior to 2/28/92, have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on an HHS examination and also meets the qualifications. Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor.
Required: 4 years as medical technologist Preferred: supervisory experience
Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent)
