Steward Health Care System is seeking a transformative, dynamic physician leader as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Holy Family Hospital with experience in a sophisticated, community-based, acute care hospital setting. Steward Health Care is a fully integrated national health care services organization and operates 36 community hospitals across nine states and the country of Malta, serving over 800 communities, with more than 40,000 employees and regularly receives top awards for quality and safety. The Steward network includes 25 plus urgent care centers, 42 preferred skilled nursing facilities, substantial behavioral health services, and over 7,900 plus beds under management.
Holy Family Hospital is a 320-bed, full-service, acute-care hospital with two campuses, Holy Family Hospital - Methuen and Holy Family Hospital- Haverhill, Massachusetts. Both full-service locations provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and 24/7 emergency services including eICUs to the greater Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire. Both campuses are proud recipients of the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission and Holy Family Hospital is one of only 72 hospitals nationwide to earn Straight A’s since 2012 from independent healthcare industry watchdog The Leapfrog Group, for performance on national standards of safety, quality and efficiency. The CMO will have a critical role in advancing Holy Family's quality programs, culture of patient safety, and the overall patient experience. In addition, the CMO will partner with other Holy Family leaders to develop strategic, clinical, and growth initiatives. Given Steward’s strengths and role as a quality-driven, national health system that is actively advancing its performance on metrics related to cost, efficiency, and access for its accountable care organization (ACO) in this highly progressive and competitive market, the CMO must be oriented to working in a results-oriented, dynamic health system environment. The CMO will have the opportunity to directly influence system-wide best practices by introducing evidence-based medicine approaches to clinical care.
Successful candidates will be forward thinking, and highly analytical with strong leadership skills, and have a track record of accomplishments in progressively senior roles. It is vital that candidates have excellent clinical skills across the continuum of clinical care to achieve the respect of both employed and independent medical staff. Board certification is required; MBA, MMM or related education preferred.
