Hospice Maui is seeking a physician who is board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine or willing to obtain Hospice Medical Director Certification.
Hospice Maui is a community-based non-profit “legacy" hospice organization serving the island of Maui (population ~ 160,000) for over 35 years, and one of ten hospices in the state. Our census ranges in the 80’s and includes patients in our Hospice Maui Hale (a state-of-the-art five-bed inpatient facility), in residential homes, and in nursing facilities (ca. 20 patients). Our patient satisfaction numbers are consistently the highest in the state.
We are looking for a sincere, strongly team-oriented physician whose clinical competency is matched with deep compassion, cultural sensitivity, and excellent communication skills. Hospice Maui views the care of those patients we serve as a "sacred trust", and as such requires each team member, and the physician leader of that team, to take this level of seriousness to heart every day.
The job duties fully encompass what the COP’s require. In addition, our physician currently provides physician support to the hospital’s palliative care team, participates with our Outreach Team’s events and activities, and is an integral member of Hospice Maui’s Leadership Team. A Hawaii license and privileges at our local hospital will be required.
If you would like more information, including a more detailed job description, we invite you to submit a letter of interest and resume to email@example.com.

About Hospice Maui
For over 35 years, physicians and families on Maui have entrusted Hospice Maui with the care of their patients and loved ones. We provide quality, compassionate hospice care to maximize the comfort and dignity of those in their last months or weeks of life, in whatever setting they reside.
We believe that each of us deserves to be cared for by those who understand the emotional and spiritual challenges that dying can bring; that we are each entitled to live our last months, weeks, or days in the setting of our choice, treated according to our beliefs and values.
Unlike other forms of care that focus only on the patient’s physical needs, Hospice Maui also provides emotional and spiritual support for the patient and loved ones, as well as bereavement support for an entire year after the death.
