Augusta Health, headquartered in Fishersville, Virginia is a mission driven, not-for-profit, community health system located that offers a full continuum of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. The Chief Medical Officer will provide the overall direction and management of medical staff services, quality and risk management, and the surgical services service line. As a member of the executive team, the CMO will provide leadership and vision for the enterprise strategic plan with a focus on quality and patient safety. He/she must be seeking an opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment with a progressive health organization with the goal of improving the health of the community.
The selected physician leader will possess a background in clinical practice and medical staff leadership, who has served in a leadership role for a minimum of five years. The chosen candidate will possess a working knowledge of pay-for-performance and accountable care and have experience leading a mixed medical staff of employed and network physicians. The ideal candidate will also provide dynamic leadership and creative solutions to challenges while maintaining a transparent and collaborative management style.

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and hold Board Certification.
Experience leading surgical services is a plus.
Master’s degree in business management or healthcare administration is a plus.
An active license in good standing or the ability to obtain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
