A leading regional network of healthcare providers is seeking an executive-level professional to join its organization. The Vice President of Risk Management has broad responsibility for protection of the institution and its staff from fortuitous loss. This role advises and consults with senior leadership and the Board on potential sources of loss and makes decisions on how to eliminate or minimize risk. Major areas of responsibility include oversight, coordination, supervision and technical competence in areas affecting risk management, including all aspects of insurance management.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; clinical background (RN, MD), JD, CPCU or MBA preferred
At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare administration with specific experience in risk management; CPHQ or CPHRM designation desired
Knowledge of patient care-related initiatives to improve outcomes
Knowledge of regulatory codes, legal requirements and healthcare law
Knowledge of alternative risk financing/insurance programs
Demonstrated skill in strategic planning, implementation and evaluation
Knowledge of clinical and non-clinical loss control and claims administration
