Under the direction of the CFO, this position is responsible for assisting with the completion of month end close, budgets, accounts payable, payroll, contracts, governmental and other miscellaneous reports. Position will interact with various vendors, government agencies, facility CEO & CFO, and all departments at facility.
Performs standard journal entries including prepaid exp., depreciation, monthly accruals, stats, and other journal entries as assigned by CFO
Reconciles fixed assets at month end to the general ledger and performs account analysis for liability accounts
Prepares weekly FTE report and provides explanations for all variances.
The final Payroll & A/P processing occurs at the Nashville Regional Office.The facility level Accountant I position troubleshoots questions related to payroll, A/P, and trains department managers on Kronos reports; reviews timesheets/punch edits with managers to identify punch issues for resolution; and enters punch edits into KRONOS system including sending the payroll file to the Nashville Regional Office after every payroll.
Updates and maintains contract log by payer to prompt senior management for rate reviews
Prepares and maintains CLGA log for vendors
Prepares CAR/PAC as required through Corporate compliance
Prepares Accounts Payable requests electronically or invoices received.This will include the monitoring and verifying the accuracy of account coding, invoices, purchase requisitions, statements, travel vouchers, and reimbursements to staff.Verify and obtain all appropriate documentation and attach prior to approval by the CFO.Performs statement reconciliations with vendors.
Prepares annual tax package for CFO review prior to submission
Performs special projects for Administrators, Regional Financial Directors, and Regional Vice Presidents.
Prepares work papers assigned for external audits as well as work with internal auditors on any audit related issues.
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all required reports and accounting data to meet applicable financial deadlines.
