Huntington Hospital has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in their search for an experienced physician executive to serve as its next Executive Medical Director (EMD).
Huntington Hospital is one of the premier healthcare institutions in the Western United States serving the healthcare needs of the residents of Pasadena, California and the greater San Gabriel Valley. Huntington is a 619-bed not-for-profit independent hospital, with almost $700 million in net patient revenue and a reputation for providing world-class health care and compassionate service with kindness and dignity. Huntington Hospital was recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the 10th best regional hospital in the state of California and 5th best in Los Angeles. Additionally, it is one of 832 hospitals receiving a Leapfrog “A” Spring 2018 score from the national patient safety watchdog. The organization maintains a medical staff of roughly 1,000 physicians who practice in a wide range of specialties and sub-specialties resulting in a full complement of inpatient and outpatient acute medical and surgical care.
The EMD will provide clinical leadership and assume responsibility and accountability for the overall strategic, clinical and operational planning of Huntington Health Physicians (HHP), a 1206 L Medical Foundation Model of Organized Physician Delivery. The EMD will help establish the future direction for the demonstration of best practice including clinical outcomes and performance, patient and physician’s satisfaction, physician relationships, supporting the growth and expansion of the integrated physician delivery model, performance on value based payer agreements, operation excellence and leadership development. The EMD will provide leadership in ambulatory growth.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced physician leader, with clinical credibility and a distinct vision for the integrated medical group. He/she is a leader who can clearly and comfortably communicate with and collaborate with physicians of various backgrounds and administrators at various levels, while formulating an approach to infrastructure and systems to support a high-performing medical group. He/she will have demonstrated experience working within integrated physician networks and ideally have experience in population health management, risk sharing environments and clinically integrated networks.
