VCU Health System's Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a full time Administrator. The Administrator will work closely with the Department Chair to manage finances and operations for the Department of Anesthesiology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health. The Administrator will also work with Senior Leadership in the physician practice plan (MCV Physicians), MCV Hospital and the VCU School of Medicine on issues related to the business cycle, business operations planning, strategic planning for growth, reimbursement and revenue streams.
Responsible for management of staff and faculty to maximize efficiencies. Manages day to day business operations of the department, including human resources, financial, research, budget and regulatory requirements.
Works with Department Chair, Executive Director of the Physician Practice, Chief Medical Officer of the Hospital to implement the administrative and financial success of the department in all missions: patient care, education, research and community engagement.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration
Minimum 4 years in Healthcare Management
Thorough understanding of and experience with operational planning
Strong management skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Solid interpersonal abilities and emotional intelligence
Ability to manage change
Master’s in Business or Healthcare Administration or closely related field
Knowledge of federal guidelines for biomedical research
ACMPE board certification a plus
Administrative or financial work experience in a large medical center or physician group practice
Experience managing anesthesia operations or an anesthesia department
