El Camino Hospital (ECH), a highly regarded and locally controlled healthcare leader that provides high quality comprehensive care in the Silicon Valley, invites applications and nominations for ECH's Chief Medical Officer (CMO). As a community hospital, ECH offers a number of tertiary and quaternary clinical services in collaboration with an outstanding medical staff. The CMO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team at ECH. S/he will provide medical and clinical leadership and expertise to the senior leadership team, the medical staff and clinical employees throughout the organization in support of clinical activities, clinical quality, patient safety and patient experience. The chief medical officer will play a critical role in integrating care across the inpatient, outpatient and post-acute continuum to optimize care for patients and prepare ECH for the transition from volume to value-based reimbursement. S/he will also play a key role in the development and execution of business strategies to support the accomplishment of goals in the El Camino Hospital Strategic Plan.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and expertise in developing and advancing collaborative relationships among the entities of Palo Alto Medical Foundation and the independent medical staff, and will promote alignment and shared accountability between physicians and the system for the benefit of patients, providers and the community. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison and advocate to build long-term collaborations and relationships between the medical staff, ECH leadership and the ECH Board of Directors.
The CMO will report to the chief executive officer. Additionally, the CMO will be accountable to the medical staff chiefs of staff for medical staff-related responsibilities. The CMO will also have a significant role in partnering with the chief operating officer, chief strategy officer and chief financial officer
