Adventist Health System, with headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida is conducting a national search for their VP MEDICAL AFFAIRS / CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER (CMO) for Park Ridge Health. Park Ridge Health is located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina in Hendersonville, North Carolina—only 20 miles from Asheville. The CMO is the most senior physician leader across the entire continuum of care for the 103-bed hospital with 32 clinics, over 250 physicians including 90 employed physicians and net patient revenue in excess of $175 million. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission.
This CMO role represents an opportunity to join a mission-driven, complex organization focused on the entire continuum of care. This leader will walk into a nationally-recognized, multi-state health system that has substantial reach and can profoundly impact the health of the populations the system serves.
Reporting directly to the Park Ridge President, the CMO is a physician who serves as facilitator, coordinator and liaison for medical affairs. He/she is responsible for regulatory compliance with respect to medical staff organization, bylaws, rules and regulations. He/she oversees the credentialing process for the medical staff; facilitates communication and coordination between the medical staff and administration; serves on the executive team and collaborates with other senior executives.

The successful CMO will have appropriate board certification and progressive experience in clinical practice. The ideal candidate will preferably have a primary care or medical sub-specialty background; most important, is the ability to relate to inpatient and ambulatory providers and issues.
Ten (10) years in physician/executive/leadership role is preferred; advanced degree in health care or business related field is preferred.
The CMO will be visible, proactive, decisive, an outstanding communicator and able to build relationships to engage peers in delivering excellence in clinical care. Candidates who practice medicine one day each week are ideal.
