Salisbury, MD – Peninsula Regional Health System seeks a collaborative, visible and progressive physician leader to serve as Chief Physician Executive, Peninsula Regional Medical Group.
Peninsula Regional Health System is the largest health system on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The not-for-profit organization features Peninsula Regional Medical Center, the 8th largest hospital in Maryland, and offers the widest array of specialty and subspecialty services on the Eastern Shore. PRHS also serves as the parent company to Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation, Inc. and Peninsula Health Ventures, Inc.
Peninsula Regional Medical Group is currently comprised of over 80 employed specialists and primary care providers in both hospital and community-based settings, serving over 180,000 patients in Maryland and Delaware. The group is primed for significant regional expansion with plans to add both primary care and specialty care providers. With PRHS’ move to an enterprise-wide Epic electronic health record, PRMG is committed to achieving the triple aim of healthcare, and is positioned better than ever to improve the patient experience of care, improve the health of populations and reduce the per capita cost of healthcare.
The new Chief Physician Executive will build an infrastructure, including systems and processes; a new culture of collaboration; provide a clear sense of direction and operational leadership; and ensure that PRMG is capable of thriving in a value based healthcare delivery environment. The ultimate objective of the Chief Physician Executive is to coordinate patient care across people, functions, activities, and operating sites to maximize the value of services delivered for both the patient and the provider.
PRMG requires a dynamic leader, with clinical credibility and a distinct vision for the medical group; a leader who can inspire performance that will bring distinction to PRMG and its members. Because of the relative adolescence of the organization and the overall pace of change in the industry, as well as within the regional market, it is critical that this leader establish him/herself as a visible, approachable individual who is a transparent, proactive and effective communicator. He/she must be naturally orientated to, and personally invested in, taking the time to understand the culture and build trusting and collaborative relationships. The Chief Physician Executive of PRMG must be able to clearly and comfortably communicate and collaborate with physicians of various backgrounds and administrators at various levels, while formulating an approach to infrastructure and systems to underpin a high-performing multi-specialty group practice.
