Wake Forest School of Medicine Seeks Section Head – General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine

The Department of Academics at Merritt Hawkins is honored to work with the Department of Pediatrics at Wake Forest School of Medicine to present an opportunity as Chief of the Section of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. This is a clinically strong division that represents general pediatrics, adolescent medicine, child abuse, and rheumatology. The section is home to Wake Forest's pediatric residency program, consisting currently of 41 residents.
The Chief’s role includes defining and achieving the division’s strategic, clinical, research, and operational goals. Duties will include administrative leadership, clinical care, research mentorship, and academic program development. The Chief will be expected to promote the department's clinical mission of care for underserved patients. The sections clinical care is provided at a primary care clinic which is a patient-centered medical home, providing care to an underserved population with over 19,000 visits in pediatrics annually. The Chief will also be expected to oversee and mentor faculty research activities within the program. As leader of general pediatrics, the Chief will be responsible for collaborative leadership between local physicians and the growth of the division. This section has faculty with a wide range of clinical and research interests. We welcome candidates that have interest in either general pediatrics or adolescent medicine and candidates that have a strong background in clinical research. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated leader to direct a growing program.
